SHIPPING AND RECEIVING ASSISTANT / DISPATCHER - SECOND SHIFT

 

Caribbean Food Delights seeks a full-time Shipping & Receiving Assistant/Dispatcher with 2-4 years of shipping & receiving/dispatching and forklift experience, to work on a second shift in warehouse, production plant and freezer areas.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Preparing and loading merchandise onto trucks
  • Receiving, inspecting and accepting inbound freight orders; storing orders
  • Recording lot numbers for outgoing shipments and tracking shipments
  • Supplying the Production department with raw materials
  • Wrapping and removing finished products from the Production floor
  • Storing produced items
  • Conducting freezer and warehouse inventory

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma
  • Good math (add and subtract) and communication skills
  • Forklift trained
  • Well organized, detail-oriented and accurate
  • Computer knowledge
  • Good interpersonal skills

QUALITY CONTROL ASSISTANT - SECOND SHIFT

 

Caribbean Food Delights seeks a Quality Control Assistant for a second shift, to assist in overseeing the shift’s production process to eliminate specific problems and ensure that items produced adhere to established quality standards; assist in the implementation of quality control programs and procedures.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Perform pre-operational duties prior to the start of production, document observations and take corrective actions; prepare QC documents for the shift.
  • Check lot code for each line prior to the start of production each day to ensure correct coding for traceability.
  • Perform visual and sensory evaluation of finished goods at various times during production.
  • Check products – raw and baked - every hour, check product filling weight every hour during production.
  • Monitor CCP for cooking, chilling and baking as per HACCP, monitor sanitary condition during operation and document observation – SSOP-02, monitor proper product handling, monitor GMP and SSOP practices and take corrective action and preventive action when deviations occur in CCP.
  • Check cleanliness of equipment and facility at the end of work shift.

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Associate's Degree in Biology, Food Technology, Food Science or Equivalent
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Data Entry software
  • Minimum two (2) year’s work related experience in Food Industry
  • Proficiency in working knowledge of HACCP, SSOP and GMP
  • Demonstrated technical competence
  • Good communication and customer service skills

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC – SECOND SHIFT

 

Caribbean Food Delights seeks a hands-on mechanic with 3-4 years related work experience for a second shift, to assist in the upkeep of the plant’s equipment in accordance with best practices, diagrams, manuals and manufacturer specifications and ensure that machines and equipment are operating in a safe and effective manner at all times.

 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Follow and adhere to GMP, confined space, LOTO and all safety rules set forth by the company.
  • Comply with OSHA/USDA/HACCP Safety and Health rules, at all times.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access and remove defective parts using hand tools, power tools, hoists, ladders and lifts.
  • Observe equipment’s operations trouble shoot and diagnose problems.
  • Check boilers and HVAC systems to ensure that they are working correctly each morning, evening and periodically throughout the day
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems, replace VFDs, terminate electrical connections and control wiring.
  • Check to ensure that air compressors and refrigeration systems for production are on and working properly before production start-up time each day.
  • Perform change overs on dough sheeting lines, according to specifications during daily startup.
  • Check lighting system throughout the plant, weekly; replace bulbs where necessary.
  • Check equipment components for repair or replacement; clean, lubricate equipment, regularly.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of all components needed for the maintenance of equipment.
  • Examine all machines and equipment to ensure that they are consistently, operating within specifications.
  • Evaluate equipment and machinery performance and recommend improvements to the Engineer or the President.
  • Set up equipment and conveyors by adjusting to product specification; test set up.
  • Maintain packaging quality by inspecting in-process and finished production; verify specification, identify any problems and make necessary adjustments.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment on a regular basis and align equipment parts, if necessary.
  • Check for machine performance and keep records of repairs and maintenance and refer to these records during inspection and repairs.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma
  • Technical Training or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years related work experience
  • Knowledge of installation, servicing and repair of Production equipment
  • Ability to read schematics and diagrams
